Singer/Songwriter
Josh is an excellent musician, whose work I’ve helped promote across the internet and for regular airplay on BBC Introducing. Despite Josh’s brilliance at songwriting, he is somewhat sheepish about music’s distribution and promotion online. The need, therefore, was not only for a music website but a range of online promotion through SoundCloud, Bandcamp, ReverbNation and all the rest.
Music Website
The website I built for Josh is simple, and needs to be. Too much content, despite its usefulness, can quickly clutter up a website and deviate from what’s really important – the music. joshwintrup.com is therefore very sparse. Space has been given to a small bio and track listings, but elsewhere the site only contains album artwork and Bandcamp embeds. The advantages are twofold. One, Josh is able to easily add new material without worrying too much about tripping over WordPress. Secondly, the website honours the music above all; visitors are taken straight to the latest EP release, and all past material is accessible from the home page.
