Dance & Choreography Company
Luke Brown runs a professional dance company in London. His site was a step up from the traditional freelance venture, as he is in charge of a team who perform across the country. Being in the arts industry, Luke’s website needed to be a manifestation of his skill set – movement, dance and elegance through imagery.
With many critically acclaimed productions under his belt, Luke had no shortage of high quality images to choose from. This was my starting point and the basis for the website’s design. It is a rare site that has no prominent palette; the appeal is in the photographs, not a preset colour scheme.
We decided that, like dance, the experience of browsing the site should be fluid and seamless. This was achieved by adding smooth page transitions between links, with content fading and sliding as if the site were a cohesive whole. This extends to the modal galleries that display photos and videos in the same browser window.
