Trombone Player & Teacher
This atmospheric design was built for trombonist and music teacher Patrick Kenny. Like many musicians, Patrick needed an attractive space that pools together his accolades, performances and music credits. Primarily in the brass and jazz arena, Patrick’s site has a stylish, brooding theme reminiscent of the smoky blues clubs of yore. He will use the website as a means of attracting new clients and students, as well as having the satisfaction of a branded online area to call his own. The principal features of this project include:
- Dark & elegent website design
- Fixed right hand content columns
- 3 sections + landing splash page
- Click-activated videos and audio iframes
- Contact form forwarding to Patrick’s email
As far as websites go, this one is relatively small. Besides the splash page, there are only three sections, with content taking no more than a third of the available space. Projects such as these – showcasing a talent or art form – often require a show-don’t-tell attitude to design. With audio and video on the website, the reader is mostly entertained through other means than reading Patrick’s history.
That’s not to say Patrick’s biography isn’t captivating! His accolades are impressive and ever-growing; Pat has played at Jazz festivals in the UK and abroad, worked with artists such as Michelle Burke, Boy George and Peter Andre, plus has the distinction of playing the Carnyx – a 2,000 year old Celtic war horn, of which only two reconstructions survive. The website will give Patrick an easy pointer towards his work, growing as he builds on his promising career as a session musician.
