The policy: This privacy policy is for this website; [www.phasethreegoods.co.uk] and served by Bruce Sigrist trading as Phase Three Goods – Rouen House, Rouen Road, NR1 1RB –  and governs the privacy of its users who choose to use it.

It explains how we comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the DPA (Data Protection Act) [pre-GDPR enforcement] and the PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations).

We and this website complies with the DPA (Data Protection Act 1998) and already complies with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which comes into effect from May 2018. We will update this policy accordingly after the completion of the UK’s exit from the European Union.

Users contacting this us through this website do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. Your personal information is kept private and stored on this website for 14 days before being automatically deleted.

Where we have clearly stated and made you aware of the fact, and where you have given your express permission, we may use your details to send you products/services information through a mailing list system. This is done in accordance with the regulations named in ‘The policy’ above.

Users’ Personal Information

We only collect information that is essential to the purpose of designing, building and marketing a website. This includes customers’ names and email addresses for correspondence.

We also require relevant login details to access, maintain and modify websites and their periphery platforms. These differ from client to client, but primarily these details include: CMS (Content Management System) usernames and passwords, database usernames and passwords, SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) usernames and passwords, usernames and passwords to the client’s domain registrar and hosting company, plus usernames and passwords to relevant third-party software e.g. MailChimp, Cloudflare.

This information is kept secure on an encrypted hard drive, the password to which is not shared with anybody other than myself.

How Long This Data Is Held For

Due to the ongoing nature of the client/designer relationship, data can be required long after a project is finished e.g. for routine maintenance, troubleshooting, website updates, site outages.

Between the 1st – 10th April every year, I hold an annual data review. If we have not corresponded in the 12 months leading to that date, your data will automatically be deleted from the system. You are also welcome to request that your data is deleted at any time – see below.

Email Mailing List & Marketing Messages

We keep a small mailing list that sends out occasional tips and marketing messages. Subscribers are managed via Mailchimp on a double opt in basis. At any time subscribers can opt out of these messages by clicking on the email footers, or by emailing me directly at bruce@phasethreegoods.co.uk.

External Website Links & Third Parties

Although we only look to include quality, safe and relevant external links, users are advised to adopt a policy of caution before clicking any external web links mentioned throughout this website.

Shortened URL’s; URL shortening is a technique used on the web to shorten URL’s (Uniform Resource Locators) to something substantially shorter. This technique is especially used in social media and looks similar to this (example: http://bit.ly/zeVUBf). Users should take caution before clicking on shortened URL links and verify their authenticity before proceeding.

Social Media Policy & Usage

We adopt a Social Media Policy to ensure our business and our staff conduct themselves accordingly online. While we may have official profiles on social media platforms users are advised to verify the authenticity of such profiles before engaging with, or sharing information with such profiles. We will never ask for user passwords or personal details on social media platforms. Users are advised to conduct themselves appropriately when engaging with us on social media.

There may be instances where our website features social sharing buttons, which help share web content directly from web pages to the respective social media platforms. You use social sharing buttons at your own discretion and accept that doing so may publish content to your social media profile feed or page.
